The aim of the EPURE programme is to provide a range of services capable of carrying out an operational assessment of solutions for adapting to urban overheating. It is structured around two main areas:
Vulnerability assessment
A diagnostic service ➜ to assess the vulnerability of a neighbourhood and its buildings to the risk of urban heat island effects, both at present and under predictive scenarios that take climate change into account.
Objective ➜ to identify the most vulnerable outdoor spaces and buildings in order to plan developments suited to the local context.
For whom? Public sector organisations and regional engineering consultancies.
Study of adaptation solutions
An impact assessment service ➜ to examine grey or green solutions and quantify their impact on urban thermal comfort.
Objective ➜ to provide a tool capable of accurately modelling real-world solutions to support and strengthen decision-making during the planning process, as well as to assist in the development of these solutions.
For whom? Public sector bodies, project managers and manufacturers.
EPURE is a programme led by a consortium with complementary areas of expertise, bridging the gap between research and industry. It is led in particular by two Technology Centres (TCs) and benefits from the participation of five partner companies, representing the entire chain of spatial planning actors.
